The software for all Malvern Panalytical Mastersizer 3000 and plus models has been upgraded  to Xplorer 5.
  • This new software release brought novel features yet with the same interface and feel as your long running Mastersizer Sizer platform ( of which there are >100 installations in Ireland alone). These include Data Quality Guidance, for Pro and Ultra, Size Sure and SOP Architect for MS3000+ Ultra and all are activated by licenses instead of feature keys.
  • In addition,  Mastersizer Xplorer 5.x uses the cross platform powerful Omnitrust software to support 21CFR features and audit trails. With recent advances in Computer chips/electronics/builds and changes in Windows Software, especially the .NET6 environment,  the long running MAC feature key for 21CFR only works with Mastersizer Xplorer version 4.x or 5.x
  • In addition Mastersizer Xplorer 5.3 and above is future proofed against developments with electronics inside the optics and dispersion units – brought about by discontinuance of legacy chips and microprocessors. For more details on this see page 3 of the SUN notes 5.20. 
  • Mastersizer Xplorer 5 software require an i7 PC with 16Gb RAM and >8th gen processors. Windows 10 and Windows 11 operating systems with latest updates are recommended.
All  managers are encouraged to review these changes and adopt the new software. Not only to future proofs the system, it is more secure and it will simplify your upgrade path if you need to change electronics in the future.
