News and announcements from Particular Sciences on events, staff, suppliers, webinars and technologies

From January, Particular Sciences will be supporting Pion-Inc in the Republic of Ireland.

This is exciting news to start 2022 and we see it as another complimentary addition to the instruments and technologies we offer our customers.

“For drug development scientists requiring trusted data, Pion provide novel in-vitro tools that promote quicker, more informed decision-making. Unlike conventional techniques, that were never designed for today’s science, Pion technologies and analytical scientific instruments lead to more predictable in-vivo outcomes.”

And we also welcome Liam Lanigan to the team!

Liam is a graduate of TUD, with experience in Surface and Photochemistry and Vacuum techniques for Nano-Science. He is joining our field service team under Neil O’Grady to work alongside Mark Gibson in the service and support of our X-ray analytical installations from Malvern Panalytical.

Dr. Robert Groarke has joined the technical team in Particular Sciences!

Robert has a BSc. (Hons) in Chemical and Pharmaceutical Sciences and a PhD in Inorganic Photochemistry.  His areas of expertise are with pharmaceuticals and medical devices, additive manufacturing and powder characterization in general (rheology, particle shape & size and material composition). Robert will join Gerry Power, John Sloane, Aoife O’Murchu and Donnchadha Quilty in the expanding sales team headed by Cairan Maguire.

Since the end of 2020, Particular Sciences have been working with Netzsch to promote and supply their excellent thermal products and rheology products. This is a developing situation, made trickier by Covid-19 and lack of travel.

Gerry Power is our product specialist with the support of Eileen Smith of Netzsch UK promoting Netzsch Thermal products including DSC, TGA, and STA. Gerry of course sells and supports the Kinexus rotational and the Rosand capillary rheometers which transferred from Malvern Panalytical in 2020.

Visit our Rheology technology basket and the Thermal technology baskets on the Products page for more details.

Harry Owen who introduced Kaiser Optical Raman to Ireland is now manufacturing novel probes that improve Raman scattering collection.

This Autumn HORC will release the RIO 200S Plus with f/2 data collection and Real-Time Raman Calibration combined – for immersion in reactors or fermentors or for use with solid samples!
