Biolin Scientific’s QSense Omni QCM-D wins prestigious award

Biolin has been awarded the prestigious Red Dot Award for Product Design. The award is a testament to the outstanding design quality and degree of innovation of the QSense Omni, which was developed by a team of industrial and mechanical designers at Biolin Scientific and its industrial design partner Creo Center.

FORJ™ is a game changer for sample prep by fusion from Malvern Panalytical.

Whether your analysis is based on X-ray fluorescence (XRF), inductively coupled plasma (ICP), or atomic absorption (AA), FORJ is an essential link in your analytical chain. With 6 sample prep stations and the ability to preload a further 6 samples, this is a high tech, programmanble workhorse. If this interests you take a look at a video.

Meet our newest recruit, Sara Tumpa

Particular Sciences are supporting Pion-Inc in the Republic of Ireland.

This was exciting news in 2022 that we are developing in 2023, and we see it as another complimentary addition to the instruments and technologies we offer our customers.

Unique instruments and services that help scientists make informed decisions about Food and Drug Formulation in the journey from R&D to manufacturing

www.pion-inc.com        pion-inc products overview

BEE International was acquired by Pion-inc.

Pion Inc. builds a broader sample preparation toolkit for formulation with the acquisition of BEE International, adding homogenization capabilities to integrated, in vitro solutions for accelerated drug development.

BEE International brings cutting-edge homogenization and patented emulsification technology adding this to Pion’s best-in-class lab equipment for drug characterization helps scientists efficiently establish cause-and-effect relationships for rapid progress in drug formulation and then scale from lab to manufacturing.

This is an excellent fit for Particular Science as Homogenisation is a classic particle size reduction technology. BEE International has unique modular construction, making it easy to optimise a method and exchange parts. Read the official announcemnt here.

A novel technology to investigative sample dispersion and stability is the TURBISCAN DnS from Formulaction.

Dispersibility studies can be performed, while processing (at flow) or with your native state samples using Static Multiple Light Scattering (SMLS), as recommended by ISO TS 21357. Flow studies can be done by either pumping the sample from the process or reactor (circulation function of the Turbiscan DNS: T-LOOP) or mixing directly in the measurement cell (mixing function: T-MIX). The stability measurement is done at rest, and the Turbiscan DNS offers a fast (up to 1,000 times faster), quantitative and reliable stability measurement of destabilization kinetics without dilution or mechanical forces.

For more see the Formulaction website or ask Dr Ciaran Maguire for information or a demonstration.

Nigel Kilduff, our newest recruit,  joins technical sales for Nikon Metrology.

Nigel has a track record in technical positions with companies in the USA and UK and previously worked with other well-known Irish Laboratory Suppliers, including Lennox and Brennans.

His LinkedIn profile says it all. “After 20 years in Service & calibrations, it’s time for a change in direction!” This is an exciting addition to our team and what we do. Nigel will specialise in sales and support for Nikon microscopy and report to Ciaran Maguire but, like all of us, will add other duties to help you, the customer.

We are delighted to announce we have been appointed distributor for Nikon Metrology in Ireland.

“High precision measurement and inspection during production is essential for advanced manufacturing operations. Nikon provides systems for diverse and demanding quality control applications throughout industry.”  We shall principally be responsible for the sales and support of Nikon Microscopes to Industry. Including Stereo Microscopes with zoom, Compound microscopes and digital image capture and analysis. This is an ideal addition to our material characterisation portfolio.

We have a full set of demonstration microscopies and have new specialist  Nigel Kilduff, who will train alongside Nikon personnel and with them in their regional offices in the UK

H.E.L signs distribution agreement with Particular Sciences

H.E.L Group (H.E.L), a global developer and manufacturer of innovative laboratory tools for process optimization, safety, and scale-up, today announced a distribution agreement with Particular Sciences Ltd, Dublin. Particular Sciences become the exclusive distributor of H.E.L’s products in Eire (Ireland) and Northern Ireland, from 1st June 2021.

Take a look at some of the products and technologies we will be supporting on our Products page, including CrystalSCAN (Thermal technologies),  Bioreactors and Lab reactors (Process & Pilot technologies) and BioVIS probes and sensors (Biophysics technologies).

Since the end of 2020, Particular Sciences have been working with Netzsch to promote and supply their excellent thermal products and rheology products. This is a developing situation, made trickier by Covid-19 and lack of travel.

Gerry Power is our product specialist with the support of Eileen Smith of Netzsch UK promoting Netzsch Thermal products including DSC, TGA, and STA. Gerry of course sells and supports the Kinexus rotational and the Rosand capillary rheometers which transferred from Malvern Panalytical in 2020.

Visit our Rheology technology basket and the Thermal technology baskets on the Products page for more details.

Harry Owen who introduced Kaiser Optical Raman to Ireland is now manufacturing novel probes that improve Raman scattering collection.

This Autumn HORC will release the RIO 200S Plus with f/2 data collection and Real-Time Raman Calibration combined – for immersion in reactors or fermentors or for use with solid samples!
