Elemental sample prep

Good sample preparation is a pre-requisite for high-quality  chemical analysis.

Whatever samples are being assayed, be they loose powders,  pressed powders, fused beads, solid samples or liquids;  finding the right approach to sample preparation is the first, and one of the most important, steps in achieving accurate and reproducible results.

In this Malvern Panalytical offer technologies to fuse beads with their own technologies and with Claisse.

Claisse – the world leader in sample preparation by fusion

Fusion is a sample preparation method developed in the mid 50s. It consists in dissolving at high temperatures a fully oxidized sample in a suitable solvent (a flux) in a platinum, zirconium or graphite crucible. It’s used for different analysis including X-Ray fluorescence tests. The melted mixture is agitated and poured into a mold to create a glass disk for XRF.
