Nanotechnology
Nanotechnology is science, engineering or technology conducted at the nano-scale, which is about 1 to 100 nanometers; yet extends into the micron range, when clusters and aggregates are considered.
The European definition is along the lines of ‘an insoluble or biopersistant and intentionally manufactured material with one or more external dimensions, or an internal structure, on the scale from 1 to 100 nm’. This has significant implications in Medicines, Cosmetics and a wide range of consumer products.
